AeroRanger enforces some of the basic DJI features including:
- Return to home on loss of comms with the RC unit. If the tablet/phone is disconnected or the app crashes, your drone will continue to fly the Auto mission, if currently executing one. However if the RC controller itself loses contact with the drone (due to a DJI firmware bug, flat battery, drone flying out of range etc), then the drone is automatically set to execute a return home. You can't turn this off with AeroRanger
- Geofence - a circular geofence of 500m radius and 122m altitude is automatically created when a home point is set. It shows up on the screen as a red circle around home at 500m radius. All of your mission waypoints or manual flying must occur within this geofence. Although you are strongly advised not to, you can turn it off via the app settings. You can only change this setting before takeoff.
- No fly zones - AeroRanger displays the standard DJI no fly zones in your area. We do not currently provide any way to disable DJI no fly zones. You will need to use DJI GO for that. Also, updating of No fly zones can only be done through DJI GO, which you should do periodically.
